Azure Data Studio via SSH Tunnel to Azure SQL Server

I have installed Azure Data Studio on Mac M1, and can connect to my Azure SQL Server over public IP, but I want to do the same over a SSH Tunnel.

The tunnel is set for port 1433 on mac and I can transmit data through to tunnel over port 1433 fine, but when trying to make Azure Data Studio to authenticate to the Azure SQL server, it fails even when setting up the feature->extension->Remote tunnel to point to local host.

From the msg, its still trying to connect over the public IP, show me documentation or help me to make Azure Data Studio to route all data via the ssh tunnel please?

@Ho, Eddie Thank you for reaching out.

Sorry to hear about the issue you are facing while connecting to an Azure SQL DB from ADS via SSH tunnel gives you error.

It is not possible to connect via SSH tunnel - there is a request for that: Feature request: built-in SSH tunneling · Issue #398 · microsoft/azuredatastudio (github.com)

You can upvote it and add comments as it still exists in our backlog.

    Regards,

    Oury
