Hello,

I have maybe a stupid question about the commitment pricing tier in Speech services.

We currently have 5 Speech services in 4 different locations, so 5 endpoints with pricing tiers S0.

We are wondering about changing the S0 pricing tier to the commitment pricing tier, however from the official documentation page is not clear to me if we would buy the commitment pricing tier for all of our endpoints or only for one of them.

Example:

endpoint-eastus S0

endpoint-westeurope S0

Would buying Commitment pricing tier Speech to text 2,000 hrs/month for 1600 USD be for both or just one of them?

Thank you,

Petr

Hello @70708851 , Thanks for using Microsoft Q&A Platform.

A commitment pricing tier is added/applied to a particular resource that is selected by you on the Azure portal. As we know while creating a resource, we generally select region and the pricing tier. Once your resource is created (or already existing resource is available) you can change your pricing from pay-as-you-go, to a commitment plan.

Coming to your question, you will have to select specific resource that applies 2,000 hrs/month for 1600 USD. Means only one of those resources(endpoint) get that pricing tier as we select the resource first then the pricing tier is updated. You can purchase a commitment plan by updating your Azure resource as mentioned here:

I hope this helps. Please go through this documentation to know more about purchasing a commitment tier plan: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/commitment-tier#purchase-a-commitment-plan-by-updating-your-azure-resource

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Vasavi
