I have recently received a laptop from my university which came with a pre-installed windows 10 enterprises edition. The windows 10 is already activated as it shows in the activation tab in the settings. But when I updated my windows 10 to windows 11, the windows 11 gave an error of activation failure as no product key was found by windows. I have tried command prompt and powershell to get the windows product key but all in vain. Besides, I have used the ShowKeyPlus to check for the product key and under the installed key section it says "MAK key not available" and under OEM key it says "OEM key not present in the firmware. " For now, I have downgraded to windows 10 and I have checked again my windows activation status and it shows that windows is activated and only the last 5 letters of product key are shown and rest are hidden as XXXXX. I want to upgrade my windows 10 to windows 11 but every time I try I get the same error. How can I solve this problem?, I am currently on windows 10.

Open and elevated CMD prompt,
run Cscript SLMGR.vbs /CMD
Report back the results, this will hopefully show the type f key installed on Windows 10.

I have run the following command (Cscript SLMGR.vbs /CMD) in the elevated cmd prompt but it says "Unrecognized option: /CMD". However, it still opens the Windows Software Licensing Management Tool. Afterward, I ran the following command "Cscript SLMGR.vbs /dlv". It shows the detailed licensing information but still, there is no product key available here. It shows the following information regarding the Windows.
Name: Windows(R), Enterprise edition
Description: Windows(R) Operating System, VOLUME_MAK channel
Product Key Channel: Volume:MAK
License Status: Licensed
Besides these, there are specific ID codes available next to the Activation ID, Application ID, Extended PID, and Installation ID (None of these is product key I guess as their key format differs verily). There are also two URLs reported next to the "Use License URL" and "Validation URL"

Sorry the command should have been /DLV my bad on that.
The MAK key should work. It does display the last 5 digits of the product key doesn't it?
What type of media are you using?
Sicne this is volume license upgrade with Windows 10 Enterprise you may need to use Volume License media.
After you do an upgrade to Windows 11 can you open a elevated CMD prompt and run:
cscript slmgr /DLV ALL
This command lists all the licenses that are available on that version of Windows.
You are looking for an Windows 11 Enterprise license :
Something similar to this:
Name: Windows(R), Enterprise edition Description: Windows(R) Operating System, VOLUME_MAK channel
We want to make sure the Enterprise licenses are available:

Yes, the MAK key displays the last five digits of the product key. It is displayed next to the partial product key in command prompt when Windows Software Licensing Management Tool is run.
No, I'm not using any sort of media. I don't have any Volume License media. Since, I have received this laptop from my university under a scholarship program and the university might have bought this from some vender in large quantities with licensed windows. So, I don't have any volume license media with me. Besides, some of my friends have also received the same laptop but when they upgraded from windows 10 to 11, they have received no activation error. What I was looking forward was of ways to get rid of this error or to somehow retrieve the product key or license from windows 10 and then reapply it in windows 11 since windows 11 gave error that no product key was found.
I upgraded to windows 11 and ran following commands in the elevated command prompt "cscript slmgr.vbs /DLV ALL." As, you have mentioned, I have found following information under the Windows 11 Enterprise license.
Name: Windows(R), Enterprise edition
Description: Windows(R) Operating System, VOLUME_MAK channel
Product Key Channel: Volume:MAK
License Status: Notification
Notification Reason: 0xC004F200 (non-genuine).
However, I also noticed here that the partial product key (it tells the last five digits of product key) has also changed. It is now different to what it was under windows 10. Besides, the "Extended PID" and "Installation ID" has also changed. The "Activation ID" and "Application ID" with "Use License URL" and "Validation URL" remains same as under windows 10.

Does the 5 displayed digits on Windows 11 match any of the 5 digits displayed on your installation of Windows 11?
Did you try running ShowKeyPlus to check for the product key on Windows 10?
Should be the same MAK key on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
