I have a Dell Inspiron 5521 laptop with a Intel i5-3337U CPU and 6 GB or RAM, running Windows 10 Home, Version 22H2, Build 19045.3570. For some time now, I have been experiencing an issue where the system will momentarily operate the cooling fan for a period of 1 to 2 seconds. During this period, the system freezes to the point where even the mouse pointer will not respond to inputs. After the episode passes, all returns to normal. It almost appears as though the system is entering a self-test mode of the fan for no apparent reason.

I must admit that I have no idea how to approach this problem. Other than the issue noted above, the system operates normally. Can anyone offer any guidance?

Sounds like you'll need to reach out to Dell or ask for help in their forums here for problems with the hardware.
