Authenticator App is showing different phone number for verification code than what's shown in my Microsoft account info

So I was trying to setup my Microsoft authenticator app on Android. Since I didn't have the app logged in on another device I can't use the codes to login to my account on the app. So I tried using the send verification code to phone number option. But the phone number it's showing is not the same one as I have added on my Microsoft account and I have checked that by opening account info on my profile from browser where I am logged in. Why is authenticator trying to use a different num? Platform: Android, OS version: 14
