Migrate WSUS server grouping and setting to SCCM server

Hi,

I have a WSUS server that created some grouping and configurate some automatic update configuration so different server and client group can auto update the patch.

As the WSUS server OS end of support, I want to use the SCCM server to update client patch instead. The SCCM server installed WSUS and configurated to software update point already.

Can the WSUS "grouping" and "auto update configuration" migrate to the SCCM? Or I need to manual configurate all boundary and the auto update?

Thanks

Chong

    Hi,

For "grouping" in System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Collections help you organize resources into manageable units. You can create collections to match your client management needs and perform operations on multiple resources at one time.

For "auto update configuration", in System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), you can use Automatic Deployment Rules (ADRs) to automate the deployment of software updates. Once you have created an ADR, you can automatically approve and deploy software updates by using it.

    Hi,

Automatically approve and deploy software updates by using an ADR. The rule can add software updates to a new software update group each time the rule runs, or add software updates to an existing group. When a rule runs and adds software updates to an existing group, the rule removes all updates from the group. It then adds to the group the updates that meet the criteria you define.

For example, I create a package on Oct2023 and use ADRs to deploy it to client. One month later, the ADRs can approve the new patch on Nov2023 and auto deploy to client machine?

    The answer is yes.
