Hi @Ashim Bhandari , it is not uncommon for the device ID in Entra to be different from the device ID in the Windows settings. This is because the device ID in Entra is generated by Azure Active Directory (AAD) when the device is registered with AAD. On the other hand, the device ID in the Windows settings is generated by the operating system when the device is set up.
The device ID in Entra is used to uniquely identify the device and associate it with the correct user and policies. It is also used for device-based conditional access policies and other security-related features. The device ID in the Windows settings, on the other hand, is used for local device management and troubleshooting.
While it may seem easier if the device ID was the same in both Entra and Windows settings, it is important to note that they serve different purposes and are generated by different systems. Having different device IDs also adds an extra layer of security as it makes it more difficult for attackers to impersonate a device.
The device ID of Entra can be found using the command "dsregcmd /status"
