Windows Server 2022 Hyper-V: licensing a virtual machine with Windows 11 Pro

Hi all,

I have a question: I have a Windows Server 2022 Hyper-V host running two WS2019 VMs, one of which is an old style local Active Directory domain controller.

I want to add another WS2022 Hyper-V host in which I would like to run 3 Windows 11 Pro VMs.

As I said, I don't have an Azure AD environment, just a local Active Directory.

What type of license do I have to buy for the 3 WS11 Pro VMs? And do I have to license the second Hyper-V host with Windows Server licenses?

Thanks,

Leonardo Germinario
