Transfer Azure Sponsorship credits to existing subscriptions

Hi there,

We recently received Azure Sponsorship from Microsoft. It's added to our system as a new subscription. How can we distribute those credits to the existing subscription instead of moving everything to a new one?

I found this doc https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/manage/switch-azure-offer#switch-from-a-pay-as-you-go-subscription but it looks our subscriptions are on this newer subscription version called 'Azure plan' and we don't have a button to switch offer. Thank you in advance.

Heorhii Teriaiev According to this document, to transfer the credits you can try logging into the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub, go to the Benefits tab and select Redeem in the Azure sponsorship benefits section. Use your Azure subscription email when redeeming credits. Can you please try this ?

We did it already. It just created a new subscription in our tenant. I wonder how to pass those credits into specific existing subscriptions. Thank you

I have the same problem - only answer is that you should activate the benefit to your account. But this always creates new subscription and doesn't assign it to existing one.

When we tried to move resources from existing subscription to new, sponsored one, a lot of errors turned up, which makes it impossible to do.

I'm having the same issue. I have Azure credits that I want to use for my existing Azure subscription. When I activate the benefits from the startup founders hub, it creates a new subscription in my tenant instead of allowing me to use the credits with my existing subscription. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

I found a solution to this:
A year ago, I activated a sponsorship with a duration of 12 months. However, we used the credit in around 10 months, so I wanted to apply the second sponsorship to this subscription right after we used the funds. When going through the activation process, a new subscription was created and I wasn't able to apply the sponsorship to the old subscription. However, I stopped the process before activating the sponsorship on this new subscription and waited two months, until the first sponsorship ended (the 12 month period). Once this first sponsorship was over, I was asked which subscription I would like to add my new sponsorship to - here I was able to pick the old subscription. Subsequently, I deleted the newly created subscription as we don't need it.

For us, this means the subscription was in mode "pay-as-you-go" for two months but at the same time we didn't have to spend time on deploying new resources on the new subscription.

Your colleague Nathaniel B. advised: "Azure plan must be enabled for invoice section to create the Azure subscription. In order to resolve this could you please raise the support ticket with the Azure team, they will help you to create new Azure sponsorship subscription,, or they will convert any existing subscriptions to Azure sponsorship."

Please confirm how to do that. Thanks.
