cost estimation for on-prem servers

Hello,

I want to onboard my on-premises servers using Azure Arc. However, I would like to know if there are additional costs that I didn't expect on my end.

The cost for Defender for Servers P1/P2 will be $5/$15 respectively.

• Regarding the data ingested into the Log Analytics workspace, there will be additional charges.
• Azure Policy guest configuration $6/Server/Month Are there any other charges that I haven't mentioned here? In case I decide to only onboard my servers to Microsoft Defender for Cloud/for Server through Azure Arc.

Hi Riadh,

Costs might be incurred for ingestion and retention of data in your Log Analytics workspace, depending on your configuration there.

Many alerts are only provided when you've enabled Defender plans for your resources. A good way to preview the alerts you'll get in your exported data is to see the alerts shown in Defender for Cloud's pages in the Azure portal.

Hi Jimmy,

I plan to use Sentinel, and I understand that I'll be paying for the data log analytic workspace. However, what confuses me is whether I need to pay for MS Azure Monitor by default, or if it's optional.

Regarding Azure Arc for enabled Servers, is the Azure Policy guest configuration ($6/Server/Month) required when onboarding my on premises-servers through azure arc?

I'm also unsure if using the Azure Monitor agent necessitates using MS Azure Monitor.

I'm not sure if I will be billed for the Azure Policy guest configuration with Azure Arc.

I would appreciate your guidance on this matter.
