Cannot invite external user to Office365 group

External sharing is enabled everywhere i look (Entra AD, Office365 admin center (external collaboration and Office365 groups), SharePoint Sharing Policy), yet i am unable to invite an external user.

We can share the SharePoint site to an external user, in which that user receives an invitation, whereafter he has verify his identity with an access code. But this is a secure link, and we do not see the external user in the members list of the SharePoint site. I am owner of the group, but do not see the group appearing in Outlook web client. When i go to all groups, I am able to find the group and manage memberships, however i can only add members which are member of Entra AD. When i type the address of an external user, i get no matches found. The only way i can see this working is by inviting the external users to Entra AD, and adding them to the Office365 group.,check%20boxes%20are%20both%20checked.

What am i missing here?

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Q&A. From above description I could understand that you are trying to add guest user to M365 group via Sharepoint site invitation.

    Please do correct me if this is not the case by responding in the comments section.

    As per Invite users for SharePoint collaboration Site access is controlled through the associated Microsoft 365 group and guests can't be added to the Microsoft 365 group from the site. For information about how to add guest to a group.

    Unfortunately, I don't reproduce your situation.

    If you can't see the group, it may be because there are too many groups. You can see it by expanding it.

    For the inability to add external users, let's do some troubleshooting:

    1. Ensure that the Let group owners add people outside your organization to Microsoft 365 Groups as guests and Let guest group members access group content check boxes are both checked.
