Hi. Windows Server 2022 Standard. Remote Desktop Services and all needed for it services are installed on the server. 3 RD licences bought. Type - "per user". There's a license code for activation on admin.microsoft.com. I got the code, in "Licencing ot Terminal Services" avtivated it, checked "Retail licences". The licences have activated, but the quantity is 500 instead of 3. Why is it so ?

    Hello

This is a known issue with the licensing of Remote Desktop Services (RDS) on Windows Server 2022. When you activate a retail license for RDS, the Licensing Manager may show 500 licenses available instead of the actual number you purchased.

This discrepancy doesn’t mean you have 500 licenses. You’re still legally bound to the number of licenses you’ve purchased. The 500 licenses shown is likely a display issue or a placeholder value.

If you want to ensure compliance, you should manually track the number of RDS User CALs assigned to your users.
