Where does Databricks send notifications?

Hi,

we were recently caught off guard bij the forced Ubuntu upgrade by Dtabricks. We didn't receive any notification beforehand. I'm pretty sure Databricks does send notifications prior to important upgrades. How do I find out where they sent it? And how do I make sure it is sent to the right people next time?

Hope someone can help.

Thanks.

Regards,

Sander

    Hello Sander van Dijk,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

You can subscribe to the service notifications on the Azure Databricks Status Page. This sends an alert to the status of the service you are subscribed

    https://status.azuredatabricks.net/

You can follow the below document explains about how ot subscribe to these notificaitons.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/databricks/resources/status

for system notificaitons, when your workflow experiences a run event such as start, success, and failure, By default, notifications are sent to user email addresses, but admins can configure alternate notification destinations using webhooks.

You must be an Azure Databricks workspace admin to manage notification destinations. Once configured, the destinations are available to all users.

You can follow the below steps to configure the notification emails.

Click your username in the top bar of the workspace and select Admin Settings from the dropdown.

    Click the Notification destinations tab.

    Click +New destination.

Select a destination type(Email, Slack, Webhook, MS Teams, PagerDuty)

Configure the destination based on the type.

    Click Create.

    Reference document: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/databricks/administration-guide/workspace/settings/notification-destinations#create-a-new-notification-destination

Still If you’re still not receiving notifications, I recommend checking your spam folder or your email filter settings.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
