Issues with IIS on Windows Server 2022

Hello,

I recently built a new windows 2022 standard server which is activated.

I have tried several times to install IIS and a lot of the features simply do not want to show up.

The main reason for this server is to host wordpress sites (3 sites).

I have the latest versions of PHP and MYSQL loaded.

Some times after a reboot, I see

FAST CGI.

I do not see:

Default Documnets

Handler Mappings

Is there a document that I can follow to remove IIS completely and reinstall ? When I try I get errors.

An internal error occurred: 0x8007054f

I ensured no updates were pending.

When a second or more attempts to remove it are tried, I simply get the red "X" and a failure to remove IIS.

I'm not aware of these issues. You might also try clean installing again and patch fully before adding roles to see if that approach helps.

    Dave,

    Thanks for the reply.

I have since reformatted the drives and reinstalled windows 2022 server.

I then installed IIS and all the apps/icons appeared to be there.

I activated the license, and windows wanted to do two updates:

    KB5031221 - .net update for 3.5, 4.8, 4.81

    KB 5031364 - Windows server 21H2

The updates did fail, and it took quite a quite for the troubleshooter to remove the patches.

I looked at the IIS area and its back to having 4 or 5 apps/icons again.

I will attempt to do your suggestion to see if it sures this. I thought I saw a post about the same time period I initially posted this that the .Net update may be the issue?

Might try the manual steps here.
