Hi,

I am using MS Remote Desktop to connect to my work computer (PC) from home (iMAC) Right after the Sonoma OS update, the mic started dropping out in meetings...just the mic not the audio. The issue only comes up when I am using Remote Desktop to connect to my work computer.

I have tried the following:

test head set on home MAC - works fine

test headset on work computer - works fine

test headset when remote into work computer, says it is working

test headset in MS Teams when remote into work computer, their test says it is working

Test headed in Skype when remote into work computer, their test says it is working

removed and reinstalled - not working

tried new headset - not working

tried bluetooth headset - not working

tried unplugging the headset and putting it in a new port - still not working

Contacted Apple help, they said to updated the app, but I have the most updated version

Is there a planned update to the app to correct this?

Same issue here, accessing my work PC via my Mac Studio using Microsoft Remote Desktop. The issue only started after updating to Sonoma.

Would really appreciate a fix in the Remote Desktop app to sort this as it works fine on previous macOS versions. I am having to resort to connecting to Teams via my mobile phone for audio purposes.

    Many thanks in advance.

Looks like the latest update (10.9.5) today (December 14th) has addressed microphone redirection in macOS 14! :-)

Update from the Mac app store. I just tested it and it seems to be fixed!
