Microsoft Authenticator App not usable - No other administrator

Hey together.

I lost my phone where the Microsoft Authenticator is installed. Unfortunately i am not able to login to the O365 environment for my non-profit organization (not the one from where i am posting right now).

As i am the only administrator for this organization we cannot use anything right now.

Is there a possibility for changing the Authenticator app to another smartphone without having access to the old one? Or can we change to another MFA process? Via another mail maybe?

I already tried with different phone numbers to reach someone from the Microsoft support, but every automatic answer is telling me to reach for support via some online portal. It is an awful support until now, to be honest...

Best regards,

Philip

Sounds like you'll need the account admins to reset the account so a new QR code can be generated with which you can scan in and relink the authentication device to your account.

If you are the admin then you can reach out to 365 global customer service here.

An account admin will need to reset the account. We here in forums cannot fulfill that request. Your only hope is contacting microsoft. Please don't forget to close up the thread here by marking answer if the reply is helpful--

Also try using the Get Help app here to chat online with someone by clicking link

then "Windows", then underneath "home support" click on Get support in the Get Help Windows app
