Sometimes Outlook sends a corrupted 4 kb excel attachment, how do I fix it?

Good afternoon,

as mentioned in the title, sometimes Microsoft Outlook sends my e-mails with a corrupted excel attachment: instead of the correct 100+ kb file, it sends a 4 kb file that cannot be opened.

I have already disabled all the Outlook add-ons. I always close and save the excel file before sending it; I also wait for the green synchronization check from Microsoft OneDrive.

I'm using Windows 10 Enterprise. The Outlook version is 1.2023.727.100 (however this problem has been happening for months).

I have no idea about what is causing this:

  1. maybe the "Trellix" antivirus is interfering with it? (the IT depatment definitely won't shut it off, so I hope that this is not the problem);
  2. maybe Microsoft OneDrive is interfering with it?
  3. maybe Microsoft Teams is interfering with it?
  4. are there any other possibilities, maybe burrowed inside the Outlook options?

    Hi @Davide Di Iorio,

    Does this issue happen to a specific Excel file or any files? If this happens to a specific Excel file, Could you please share the broken file here so I can have a test on my end? And does your Outlook connect to Exchange Server in cache mode? If yes, this article may help: You receive a corrupted attachment if email is sent from Outlook that connects to Exchange Server in cache mode.
