If spot eviction probability is 10%, does that mean we have a 10% chance of being evicted some time in the next 24 hours? If not, what is the time interval over which the probability applies?

    Hello Daniel,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Learn.

he spot eviction probability in the context of Azure Virtual Machines (or other cloud providers like AWS) refers to the likelihood that your spot instance will be evicted due to the cloud provider reclaiming capacity.

However, the exact time interval over which this probability applies is not always explicitly defined in the same way across all cloud providers.

For Azure Virtual Machines, the 10% spot eviction probability does not directly translate to a 10% chance of being evicted within the next 24 hours. Instead, it is a relative measure of the risk of eviction compared to other spot instances with different probabilities. The actual eviction can happen at any time, depending on the demand for the underlying resources and the availability of capacity.
