Please help, it looks like Azure completely removed my Azure Mysql Flexible Server.
I was a short week on holiday and now my database server is gone.

When I look in the Activity Log the only I see is this...

  "description": "Active: Notification for Scheduled Maintenance to Azure Database for MySQL Flexible Server",
    "eventDataId": "4c518459-aa20-a7e0-c1e9-434cc4861f08",
This notification is for upcoming scheduled maintenance to your Azure Database for MySQL Flexible Server instance
  "title": "Retirement notice: Upgrade Azure Database for MySQL to MySQL v8.0 ",
        "service": "Azure Database for MySQL",

You’re receiving this notice because you use Azure Database for MySQL.
\n
On 31 October 2023, Oracle will retire MySQL v5.7. They will no longer provide security or software updates after that date, and you’ll need to upgrade Azure Database for MySQL

Now my resource group is still intact, but there is absolutely no trace anymore of my Mysql Flexbile Server that was running 5.7. Also when I look in the Activity Log I cannot see anything strange.. I certainly didn't delete it.

    Hi @Allard Schuurmans Welcome to Microsoft Q&A thanks for posting your question

    I'm sorry to hear that you are facing this issue. This is because of the Major Version Retirement Policy for Azure Database for MySQL The document provides a table that shows the major version retirement dates for Azure Database for MySQL. MySQL 5.7 will be retired on October 31, 2023, and MySQL 8.0 will be retired on October 31, 2026.

    Please go through "What will happen to Azure Database for MySQL service after MySQL community version is retired in October 2023?"
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/mysql/concepts-version-policy#major-version-retirement-policy
