When opening an office 365 application in Remote Desktop Services we get an Error 1001 code and the application fails. We have deleted the users roaming profile but this has not resolved the issue.

Hi @Andrew Wilson2 , error 1001 in Remote Desktop Services usually indicates that there is an issue with the user's profile or the application itself. Deleting the user's roaming profile is a good first step, but there are a few other things you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Check the event logs: Check the event logs on the Remote Desktop Services server for any errors or warnings related to the application or the user's profile. This may give you more information about the cause of the issue.
    2. Reinstall the application: Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Office 365 application on the Remote Desktop Services server. This may resolve any issues with the application itself.
    3. Check for updates: Make sure that the Office 365 application is up to date on the Remote Desktop Services server. Installing any available updates may resolve the issue.
    4. Check the user's permissions: Make sure that the user has the necessary permissions to run the Office 365 application on the Remote Desktop Services server. The user should have permissions to access the application and any necessary files or folders.
    5. Try a different user account: If the issue persists, try logging in with a different user account on the Remote Desktop Services server to see if the issue is specific to the user's account.

Please let me know if you have any questions and I can help you further.

Thanks for the reply , however what I didnt say was that we are also using Citrix on this server and have encountered a known issue with the version of the Citrix VDA we are running on the servers and MS Office authentication. We are currently looking at what version we need to be running (min 2206 apparently) and how it will possibly affect the rest of the infrastructure.
