Configuration Schedule Backup from permanent backups

"To create my permanent backups, I have set up a scheduled backup in MARS. However, I don't actually want it to run on a schedule because I only back up the permanent data when requested. Is it possible to not schedule a backup job and only perform backups when needed?"

you can indeed choose to perform backups only when needed rather than on a fixed schedule. You can initiate backups manually when you want to back up your data.
