Azure VM Nested Virtualization Dsv4-series

Question

I checked nested virtualization support in Azure Dsv4 series VM with Ubuntu 22 OS.

When i run kvm-ok, it says below

INFO: Your CPU does not support KVM extensions

KVM acceleration can NOT be used

However, as per Microsoft documentation it supports Nested Virtualization - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/dv4-dsv4-series

How can i enable it so that it shows in Linux Kernel?

Hi Vishal,

Please confirm that your VM is set to Security type: Standard by browsing to your VM in portal, Overview blade, as shown below:

If it is not Standard you will need to re-create the VM and select Standard. When on the review page, right before you click to create the VM, double-check that it still says Standard because sometimes the portal will change it.
