Visio Exports misformed SVGs

Question

When opening SVGs generated from Visio, the following error is generated.

error on line 136 at column 7: Opening and ending tag mismatch: g line 125 and svg

This, or similar is reported on several MSFT forums / threads:

Unfortunately, these threads have been locked, so I this post is really just to get the word in response to the unresolved questions. But, does anyone know when / why the threads are locked? Doing so before they are resolved isn't very helpful.
