View list of restored files from Azure Recovery Vault Restore Job

While a colleague was trying to restore a file from an Azure File Share backed up by Azure Recovery Vault he somehow managed to run the restore for the entire share rather than just the individual files needed.

As soon as he realised what he had done he cancelled the job and contacted me. But the job says that it has already restored 25000+ files, but we are struggling to find a way to view a list of the files that have been restored.

We did not have diagnostics settings configured to send data to a log analytics account prior to this.

Is there anywhere to access the details of the files that were restored either from Backup Center or from the Azure File Share itself?

    Hi @PmcT77

    Apologies for the delayed response.

Unfortunately, since you didn't have diagnostics configured for Azure Monitor, there isn't a way for you to access this information. You can, however, create an Azure support request requesting a support engineer to retrieve this information for you. Depending on how long ago the backup was done, a support engineer should be able to assist. Timing will be important though as I believe there is a retention period for such logs before they are purged.

EDIT 15 Nov 2023 I've received confirmation that the details of files restored is not exposed. I've confirmed the product group is aware of this ask. However, I don't have any additional on if or when this feature request will receive work. Should that change, I'll update this post.
