when I create a new sprint in Azure devops, it doesn't allow me to add users, what am I missing?

I have the same rights as a colleague, yet if I create a sprint users are not added automatically, but when he does they are.

In the sprint set up he has access to a "add all team members" menu item, I do not.

Any clue what I'm missing? Permissions? Membership?
