Hello, I'm currently exploring Windows Hello for fingerprint recognition in an application. While Windows login itself has rate limiting for fingerprint recognition, it seems to be missing when integrating it into user application. Could you explain why there is no rate limiting or blocking for authentication attempts within the app?

Windows Hello fingerprint recognition does not have a specified rate limitation in terms of how many fingerprint recognition attempts can be made within a certain time frame. However, there are built-in security mechanisms and best practices that help protect against brute-force attacks and unauthorized access.

The absence of a strict rate limitation is intended to provide a convenient and user-friendly experience while still maintaining security through other means, such as lockout policies and encryption of biometric data. Users and administrators should be aware of these security measures and configure them according to their organization's security requirements and policies.
