How to reflect renamed devices in Intune Portal?

Question

Most of the PCs have generic PC Name. So my goal is to rename from Intune Portal to make it easier to identify.

I have renamed the devices from Intune> Devices> All Devices> Select Device > Properties > Rename

The device is renamed in PC. I can see the completed status message as well.

But in the Intune portal, changes are not reflected. I have waited a couple of days, I have force synced, but still getting the old name.

Is there any way to update device names?

From your description, I know that you are looking forward a way to update device names.

Based on my testing, you can refer the method @JM mentioned, and it will take some time to change device name in Intune portal.

Also, make sure you are following the naming convention guidelines while renaming a device.

• 15 characters or less
• Letters (a-z, A-Z), numbers (0-9), and hyphens. Names must not contain only numbers.
• No spaces or special characters.
