Shell browser control opening links in Internet Explorer

We use the Shell Web Browser Control in our application. There is no "Edge" emulation mode that I have found but I don't know if that matters in this case. Microsoft has phased out IE. Users are complaining that when they click a link in one of our UIs that use the Shell Browser Control, the OS still manages to find and launch IE. When IE launches, it puts a message up saying it is no longer supported and the user should configure the OS to use Edge. On my Win 10 box, I can't even find IE in Programs and Features. I thought that perhaps if I uninstalled IE, Edge would launch.

When Microsoft indicated IE would be going, going gone, we connected with our technical account manager and had some discussions where we were told the Shell Browser Control would not be going away, which is great. But, how does a user configure a box, or I configure the Shell Web Browser Control so that it launches links in Edge and not IE?
