Authenticator no working 2-digit verification

I have just recently set up the authenticator app for my work email.

The app is working fine except for the two-digit verification process,

When trying to login into my email, outlook sends me to authenticator to add a two-digit code in. However, I'm unable to add the code in.

Nothing is popping up; the app does not give me anywhere to type the 2-digit number. How can I resolve this issue?

Outlook | Windows | Classic Outlook for Windows | For business
Microsoft Security | Microsoft Authenticator

I ran into this recently, because my new company requires the 2-digit code method, and ONLY uses Microsoft Authenticator. The solution, which sucks, is you have to NOT be on Wi-Fi. You can only get the two-digit code entry popup while on cellular data. And if you turn your Wi-Fi back on after you get the code, and before you submit the code, it will not work.

Something Microsoft should fix, it looks like a lot of people are spending a lot of time trying to get this to work.
