file open by a users

hello

i have a weird behavior

i have a user that tries to open a file and it was saying it's open by someone else but when i look in my active directory and the file was open by another user then the one it was saying

what could be wrong ?

If it's a one-time occurrence I wouldn't worry about it. If it happens every time than it is likely the user does not have delete permissions.

it seems it happen for alot of users they said but they can edit the document i will check if they have delete also

ok but what i mean is i see it was open by user A but in my active directory it was user B in the file open section

The username comes from the owner file not from active directory. With the document closed by all users try deleting the owner file. (file begins with a tilde)

It isn't. The owner file should be in the same share as the word or excel file.

not sure what you mean theses file are on a shared network folder i see it was open in the file open by user B but when i try to open it from the network folder i get a popup saying it's open by user A

Understood, this comes from the owner file. Coud be some sort of corruption, could also be user "A" does not have permissions to delete the owner file when they close the file in question.

i was able to see the ~ file when i un hide protected file in the view option in explorer
