We have an issue where brightness changes have no effect under settings in Windows.

Whether night light is on or off the slider has zero effect on the screen brightness.

We are using Win10 Enterprise 22H2 and this feature does not work for any computer in our organization.

Our Sys Admin isn't sure what could be disabled that would allow for the feature to be available but nonfunctional.

This has not worked for years, and I want to find a solution.

Many laptops have function keys (e.g., F2 and F3) that allow you to adjust brightness. These keys often require you to press and hold the "Fn" key simultaneously. Make sure you are using the correct function keys to adjust brightness.

Make sure the "Enable adaptive brightness" setting is turned off under Power Settings.

    • Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
    • Scroll down to the "Multiple displays" section and select "Disconnect this display."
    • Once you've disconnected the display, try adjusting the brightness again.

    Update Graphic card driver.

Run the System File Checker utility to check for and repair any corrupted or missing system files that may be causing the issue.

    • Open a Command Prompt as an administrator.
    • Type the following command and press Enter: sfc /scannow
