Good afternoon,

I explain our situation: We currently have a server farm in which we have several Windows Server 2019 hosts. On these servers we have installations of office tools, since the users of our company connect remotely to work on office files . Each user connects with their domain profile, and logs into office with their Microsoft 365 user (different from the domain, our domain is private and managed by our own controllers). Now, several users have reported to us that when logging into Office from the remote host, they receive an error 1001. We have managed to solve this error in some cases (temporarily and after multiple attempts) by deleting all the related files. with office in the private AppData subfolders of each user (including OneAuth and IdentityCache folders as indicated in the following thread: https://answers.microsoft.com/es-es/msoffice/forum/all/me-ha-salido -error-1001-and-it-won't-let-me-start/35d64f23-2d3c-4a95-a236-a62c558faf9a?from=supportcentralbcqr), and removing the following hives from the registry editor: KEYUSER\Software\Microsoft\Office\ 16.0\Common\Identity.

In some cases we have directly removed the parent Office hive from the profile. However, in some cases this does not work. We have also tried logging into the user's profile with another office user and trying again with the user's profile and then logging out of the host, and it does not work in most cases either. According to what we have been able to see, after performing a deep deletion of all the files, folders and hives related to office within the user's profile and closing and restarting the user's session within the host, the data continues to appear login to Office from the previous attempt, so we understand that we are not performing a deep cleaning of these Office profiles. Could you please give us a solution to our problem? Error 1001 prevents many users from working correctly.
