So we have an appliance running that was taken from the Marketplace.
We need to use disk snapshots to have a backup available in case of firmware roll-back.

Steps i performed:

Create disk snaphot of the OS disk.
Created new disk with the snapshot as source.
On the VM choose Swap OS Disk.

it will attach the disk, but is unable to boot (even with when switching back to original disk) with this error:

Failed to start virtual machine 'vmname'. Error: Creating a virtual machine from a non-Marketplace image does not need Plan information. Please remove the Plan information from VM.

Is there a way to force the boot or remove the plan information from the VM?

The issue occurred because of a faulty snapshot.
With a new healthy snapshot it didn't report the error and booted up.
