Hello,
I recently succumb to the Microsoft bombarding of Windows 11 adverts and updated, huge mistake. I use my PC for work and need to access a lot of documents each day, which traditionally I would do via Start > Word/Excel > Jump Lists or via searching document name from search.
I was amazed to find that the Windows 11 taskbar and Start buttons have been ripped away by the designers, who clearly must not use PC's for work.
So grumbles over. How do I get my Jump Lists back? and how do I stop the Start searching Bing it slows the searching up, I should not need to click search documents each time. There is no need for web search results there, that's what we have Google for. I simply want the start search to provide results for local files and applications. Microsoft have clearly spamming us to use Bing at the expense of user functionality within the OS.
The taskbar combines all tabs, which makes switching between multiple Word or Excel files so much slower. I can not believe they have 'combined all' by default. I got around this by using a third party software, but I should not have to. What in the world made designers do this?
Final grumble... signing up for this forum. Forced me to accept the privacy statement.. which is fair, but I could only do that by also signing up to 'I would like information, tips, and offers about Microsoft Learn and other Microsoft products and services. Privacy Statement.'...... How is that appropriate?
I am starting to think maybe I should go back to Windows 10, and wait to see if Windows 12 returns to a functional operating system that buy work professionals can use.
