How to fix files automatically deleting when you select

Cursor keeps freezing and disappearing.
When I manage to select a file or folder it automatically deletes itself and goes to recycle bin. I've tried pressing insert key but the problem still persists.

The issue started about 4 days ago.
I managed to update the mouse and touch pad drivers, left the machine for some hours then it started working okay.
The issue came back again today though.

The issue started about 4 days ago.
I managed to update the mouse and touch pad drivers, left the machine for some hours then it started working okay.

Test the mouse on a different computer to see if it works correctly. If it doesn't, the issue may be with the mouse itself.

Outdated or incompatible mouse drivers can cause cursor issues. Visit the manufacturer's website to download and install the latest drivers for your specific mouse model.

Go to Settings > Devices > Mouse and check your mouse settings. You can adjust sensitivity, scrolling behavior, and other settings to see if it resolves the problem. Adjust the slider labelled Mouse pointer speed. Moving it left will slow the cursor down, while moving it right will speed it up. Adjust it, moving your mouse between adjustments, until you find the right speed for you.

I managed to update both the Mouse and Touch pad drivers, laptop worked okay for two days and the issue resurfaced.
I tried using an external mouse but the issue persisted, I can't open a file as it automatically gets deleted when I select and also can't type sometimes as the words just get deleted.
Could it be a virus?

Is it happening with a particular file?

You may scan your system with latest anti malware tool.

Some disk cleanup or storage management tools may automatically remove files in specific folders to free up space. Make sure you're not using such tools or check their settings.

The feature of Storage Sense is enabled making the error “Windows deleting files automatically” occurs when your computer runs out of disk space.

Boot into Safe mode and then try to open the file. You may also copy the file in a USB drive and try to open on a different computer (if possible). If it doesn't open, then it might be corrupted.

If the file has been deleted, you can use file recovery tools like Recuva, TestDisk, or other similar utilities to attempt to recover the deleted file.

It's with all files. Any file, any folder I select gets automatically deleted.
I tried scanning, played around with the Storage Sense but nothing seems to be working.
For now it's okay (again) I'll send a screenshot of what happens when it happens again.
