What is SFTP connection, as mentioned the Test result(MAX) alert

Today I was checking our new customer Azure environment and noticed that network watcher alert configuration for the SFTP connection, as mentioned the Test result (MAX) alert is configured for the connection, can someone help me to find the details on this alert metrics and threshold needs to be set for this, what exactly this alert monitor.

I have noticed alerts generated for the same but checked the source and destination there was no issues, and there is no test failure. need help on find cause of this alert.

Looking at your environment, it looks like a custom alert. Someone in your organization might have configured this.

And as such, the required metrics and threshold must be specific for the custom configuration.

I'd suggest you to check this document :

Azure Network Watcher connection monitor and see what exactly is the

Test groups condition you have specified

And the alert parameter you have specified.

Thanks for reply, I was looking for Test result (MAX) metrics alert and the threshold value needs to be set for this alert, can you please help me with the requirement of this alert and at what scenario this alert will trigger.

Based on your environment, if you really want an alert, only then should you configure it.

Again, this is an alert created by your team and not an inbuilt one in Azure.

Meaning, you must check with the person who created this alert to understand why they set it up and for what scenario.

Should you feel this is not a requirement anymore, you can simply delete this.

I don't want to delete the alert, as I mentioned Im checking role of this alert and the functionality, what exactly this alert monitor.

As a community, we do not have access see the configuration made within your subscription.

Only the person who has access to the alert can see it's configurations.

Now, to explore what this alert does,

You must open the Alert and check the scope under "Overview" Section

Make note of the Scope, in your case, it should be "it-sftp-server"

Now, navigate to "Network Watcher" from Global Search and click on "Connection Monitor" section

See if there is a connection monitor named "it-sftp-server"

Inside it, check the "Test Group" and "Test Configurations"

This should give you an idea of what the rule(s) is/are testing.
