Outlook unable to connect to server after Windows 10 update today

I accepted a notification to update Windows 10 today. After my PC restarted, Outlook would not connect to the server to send or receive emails. I can access websites, and outlook webmail access, but not using Outlook. I have rebooted several times, and moved to a different wifi location, but it makes no difference. Settings struggles to open, and I cannot access Updates and Security to view updates, etc. Any help, please?

    Hi @Anne Wilson ,

Outlook would not connect to the server to send or receive emails.

What's the version of your Outlook? (File > Office Account > About Outlook). To avoid version-related issues, please make sure you have already updated your windows and Outlook to the latest version.
What's the type of your account? POP, IMAP or Exchange? Does this issue only happen to one specific email account in your Outlook? Or all the email accounts?
Are there any error prompts when the issue occurs? If so, please provide me with more information related to your issue for further research.

In order to conduct further researches on your issue, please try the following suggestions:

    1. As I know, Outlook safe mode could help eliminate the effects from custom settings and registry keys. So, it is suggested to start your Outlook in safe mode (Press Win + R, type “outlook /safe”, press Enter.) and check if you can send or receive normally.
    2. If you are using Exchange email accounts, your password information would be cached in Windows Credential Manager. To confirm if the windows update has influenced that, it is suggested to remove the credentials cache of your email account, re-open your Outlook and enter the password again to see if the issue has any difference.(Credential Manager > Windows Credentials > Select the entry that contains your email address > Remove)
    3. Besides, if the issue still continues, I'm afraid that there might be something wrong with your Outlook profile. Please try creating and using a new Outlook profile and re-configure your email account via Control Panel > Mail > Show profile and see if this issue could be resolved.

    Hope this can be helpful.
