Hi,

I want to extract the value stored in Backends Feature in Azure APIM.

For example, I have a backend with domain https://funcapp-.com and I want to use that in send-request url

@Abhay Chandramouli Thanks for reaching out.

Please confirm my understanding that you want to retrieve the Runtime URL using backend name in your APIM policy.

If it is the above case then unfortunately we don't have any way/policy to retrieve the value something like {{backend.backend-name.url}} as it is not supported currently. Feel free to raise a feature request hereif this is something you want to see in APIM.

Yes your understanding is correct..

Not as a named value {{}} but if as a context. ?

@Abhay Chandramouli Context also is not supported for backend. You can find the list of available properties for context here which doesn't support backend.

@MayankBargali-MSFT I opened the same question in Q&A and I was incorrectly pointed to use a context

backend('backendid').url
Obviously it did not work because there is no such builtin context.

Too bad backend is not available as a context.
