Unread E-mail filter

Dear all,

I use the unread E-Mail filter on my inbox and in the old version of Outlook this filter was permanent.
In the new version however, that does not seem to be the case. When I filter my inbox on unread E-Mails it shows them, however, when I then go to a random folder and return to my inbox, it shows all E-Mails again. Not soley the unread ones. I then need to re-apply the filter.

Does anybody know if it's possible to "lock" the unread filter?

Welcome to our forum!

As i know, the New Outlook for Windows is similar to Outlook for web and i got the same result both in New Outlook for Windows and Outlook for Web. I'm afraid that it‘s expected behavior. If you want to lock the unread filter, it's suggested that you could turn off New Outlook button to switch to Legacy Outlook.

Please kindly understand that many functions are not designed at present. At present, what I can do for you is to submit feedback for your request and I have post here, and you could vote for it. If you have any suggestions or ideas, It's suggested that you could post here. Hope Microsoft will notice this in the future. Thank you for your understanding and support!

Hi,

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately I have to read that indeed the function no longer seems to be there -or at least not yet- in the "new outlook". I've switched back to the "old" version because it's unworkable when you have many new E-Mails.

As i mentioned above, what we can do is to submit the feedback and vote for it. Hope Microsoft will notice it soon.
