Brand new latop, window 11 sleeps when plugged in for no reason

I have a brand new Lenovo X1 carbon with a brand new installation of windows 11.

I configured it to never go to sleep if plugged in however sometimes I come back after a few hours to find it sleeping.

The battery level is full (i.e. it's not due to low battery), there is nothing running so it's not CPU overheating or anything like that...

I tried a few things I found on a web search:

  • POWERCFG /HIBERNATE OFF
  • turning off the screen saver and the display logon screen option

This did not resolve the issue. Help?

I've attached the sleep report, an example of such an issue is session 67

The POWERCFG /HIBERNATE OFF command you mentioned disables hibernation, which is a separate feature from sleep mode.

Hibernation saves the current state of your system to the hard drive and then powers off the computer, allowing you to resume your work later.

Sleep mode, on the other hand, keeps the computer in a low-power state while maintaining the current state in RAM for a quicker wake-up.

    Steps to follow:

Open Settings > Click on System. > Power & battery tab > Under the “Power” section, click the “Screen and sleep” setting. > Choose the Never option to prevent the screen from turning off automatically.> Choose the Never option to prevent the computer from going to sleep automatically.
