The steps outlined at https://learn.microsoft.com/onedrive/b2b-sync need to be followed. Note that the OneDrive client is universal between personal and business. The individual's personal onedrive (onedrive.live.com) is not a factor, here.
sharepoint file synching on mac for team member outside org
I'm not sure if this is the right forum, this is my first post. I manage a very small organization. I share sharepoint sites with outside organization team members to get their help on files. I have always had problems with their synching of files - it just doesn't synch to their computer, which creates very difficult work arounds. My members can access sharepoint from their mac and can tap the synch button. The synch does not seem to work. This user does not have a pro license for microsoft. She does have the "free" one drive. I send the link, it does not synch, and we can not collaborate on files - which is what we need to do. Large cad files that need constant updating and sharing with members outside of my organization that could be around the world. The information as to how to successfully manage and share sharepoint sites is just not available in a concise location. However, I have to think that this is not the first time this problem is surfacing. Can anyone point me to clear instructions as to how a sharepoint site is shared with outside organization guest team members and those members can synch files with sharepoint to enable multiple member collaboration?
