Debit Card Issue on Microsoft Azure Subscription

Hi Azure Cost Management Team,

My name is Venkatesh from Chennai which is in Southern Part of India. I would like to learn Azure concepts by doing hands-on. so i thought of creating a free azure account. However i have got stuck in the "*Identity verification by card step" *and it showing the following error "We don’t accept prepaid cards because they do not support monthly payments in your location". One more thing i don't have credit card. i am having debit card which has enough balance.

I don't know what to do with this issue now. And why it is so difficult for an user to learn your product due to these payment method related itself before starting. It should have done in some other better ways.

Hello Venkatesh,

You will need a debit card with credit card capabilities (at the bare minimum). Azure does not accept most debit cards.

"American Express credit cards are not currently supported as a payment instrument in India. We have no time frame as to when it may be an accepted form of payment. Credit cards are accepted and debit cards are accepted by most countries or regions. Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Brazil only support credit cards. India supports debit and credit cards through Visa and Mastercard."
