antimalware service executable

Question

antimalware service executable is running in the back ground for long period of times slowing the perfomance of my brand new up to date computer and prevent me from having good computer session can i disable it or making it stop when i need to and resume when im done using the computer?

Hi david belhumeur,

The Antimalware Service Executable is part of the Windows Security and it cannot be stopped manually. You can turn off the real-time protection in the Virus & threat protection settings, but it's not recommended.
