Hello,

There is a scenario where I need to deploy test on-prem in multi-forest and multi domain scenario first for testing...looking further to make this on prem AD to production that I need to rename the domain name as per production.

will do Azure AD sync also in testing environment.

  1. Is this Microsoft recommendation for this.
  2. How to rename the domain name, what are. challenges and risk involve.
  3. it is a multidomain and multi -forest test environment and AD Sync installed and other third party tool configured, with Red domain.

Thanks
Rich

Yes, it is possible but can be a risky move. I'd also recommend confirming any other roles or applications will not break because of renaming.
