Unable to find a place for entering a number in the Microsoft Authenticator app

After I entered the password for my university-provided account on Microsoft Office, I received a message on the screen that said, "More information required Your organization needs more information to keep your account secure".

The instructions that followed were: "Approve sign in request Open your Authenticator app, and enter the number shown to sign in." However, upon opening the app, I was unable to locate a place to enter the number that was shown on the screen.

I have tried multiple times without success. Can someone please assist me?

Sounds like you'll need the school admins to reset the account so a new QR code can be generated with which you can relink the authentication device to your account.
