High End to End Latency to Azure File Share

Hello all,

We have stood up an Azure file share for a client. The end to end latency is extremely high whereas the server latency is low. I opened a case on this and read documentation that states this is a on premise network issue.

We have upgraded all out network equipment, patched, etc. The client has a 600mb dl speed, etc.

When we map the drive to azure files, the latency and transactions skyrocket. This is without the end users interacting with any files at all on the share.

The users are connected to azure via a site to site, and the storage account has a private endpoint.

The file share is AD integrated. We have several other clients in the same scenario not experiencing this issue.

Any hints, suggestions, or guidance of what I can look at to get to the root cause?
