Hi

I just got a new laptop with the latest Windows Pro 11 and hence the latest version of Outlook.

Overall the new outlook lacks several of the functionalities from the previous "classic" version, and I wonder when that will be fixed?? - such as:

  1. Drag and drop appointments from one day to another in the calendar
  2. Ribbon display options are now <50% of the options you had before, without the option to add any of the missing functionalities
  3. Also the toggle button in the top right corner of the window is not there and hence I cannot switch back to the classic Outlook.

Why change from the classic version that was working so well to this new version that has half the functionalities.

Thanks

    Hi @Michael Peen ,

    Welcome to our forum!

Overall the new outlook lacks several of the functionalities from the previous "classic" version, and I wonder when that will be fixed??

Please kindly understand that many functions are not designed at present. It is recommended that you could post the functions you expect and your sincere suggestions on the website dedicated to collecting feedback. We sincerely welcome your suggestions, and thanks for your understanding and support!

Also the toggle button in the top right corner of the window is not there and hence I cannot switch back to the classic Outlook.

To switch to classic Outlook, it's suggested that you could try the following solutions:

1.Click outlook.exe via C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16 or C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16 (may vary slightly depending on edition), so if necessary make a new shortcut for it.

    User's image

2.Considering that it is disabled via Registry, it's suggested that you could open registry Editor and set the UseNewOutlook to 0 via HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences.

(Note: Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before making changes, back up the registry to restore it in case something goes wrong.)

    Hope to help you!
