Hello,

I need your help with an issue I'm having with Windows Firewall. A while ago, when I granted internet access to a particular app, the app still seems unable to connect to the internet. I checked the Firewall settings and made sure the permissions were configured correctly. However, the problem persists.

Do you have any suggestions on how to solve the problem or how I can better diagnose this type of situation?

When you're encountering issues with an application not being able to connect to the internet despite having granted permissions in Windows Firewall, here are some steps to troubleshoot:

Recheck Firewall Settings: Verify the app is allowed in both private and public networks if applicable.

Temporary Disable Firewall: Temporarily disable the Windows Firewall to check if it's indeed causing the issue.

Check App Configuration: Ensure the app is correctly configured for network access.

Look for Other Security Software: Sometimes, other antivirus or security software can block internet access.

Network Troubleshooter: Use the built-in Windows network troubleshooter to diagnose connectivity issues.

Review Logs: Check the Windows Firewall logs to see if the app's connections are being blocked.

Port and Protocol Permissions: Ensure that specific ports and protocols required by the app are not blocked by the firewall.

Advanced Firewall Settings: In Advanced Firewall settings, check for any rules that might inadvertently block the app.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, you might need to look into more specific aspects of your network setup or consult with a network specialist.
