- Corrupted drivers can lead to problems. Uninstall the Realtek driver and let Windows reinstall it automatically.
- Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
Go to the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, and disable SmartByte Network Service.
Restart your computer.
- Ensure that any power-saving features or bandwidth limitations are disabled in the network adapter settings.
- If the lag spikes persist, try connecting to a different network, to see if the issue is related to your local network or internet service provider.
