Sharepoint ONLINE (modern Site) List calendar view connect to Outlook

Hello,

at least in SP on-prem (and probably also in SPO classic sites, we could create calendar objects. these could be easyly connected to Outlook.

Now, from what I figured out, there are no more calendar objects in SPO modern sites (Communication Site), but one rather may create a list and can add the calendar view to it. But I don't see how I still can connect this list, and especially as calendar view into my Outlook app. Is this not possible anymore, or is there still a way to achive this.

I followed this tutorial in order to get sort of a calendar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dMwNZrOLN4

And I'd also would like then to be able to invite this calendar to some appointments I create from my Outlook calendar.

Looks llike I even can't anymore switch to classic experience on that site. I created a Team Site (classic experience) on a Dev-Tenant SPO, there I have classic experince and from there I also can add Calendar itself as an app.

kind regards,

Dieter

    Hi @Dieter Tontsch (GMail) ,

Yes, as you said, the calendar of the SharePoint online modern site is essentially a list, and there is no way to synchronize it with the outlook calendar.

It is recommended that you use calendar app:

Click New-->App on the SharePoint site home page.

    User's image

    Click on classic experience.

Enter calendar to create an event list:

    User's image

And, to address your concern about the situation, we’d suggest you go to feedback on this issue, this is the best platform to let us hear from you and make our products and services better for you and others. Microsoft values its customer feedback and a lot of features have been developed and suggested by customers via feedback. Your feedback is also very important. I am sure SharePoint developers are working on this. Our Product Team is in-charge of the site and they are constantly checking the comments and feedback from our customers.

That's great, but how can I invite this calender into an appointment of my own, from my Outlook? Cool would also be handling it like an Exchange Ressource with aoutmatic acceptance of invitations etc. Is that possible?

Also, I added the Column "Attendees" to the List Settings, but my invitees (in this case it's me) do not geht an invitation for an event created from that calender in SPO.

Or am I supposed to deal with this SPO claender like with a second calender of my own (assuming I have the perimssoin) with the slight difference that it can be accessed from a browser easily by other persons also etc... But appointments, created via the browser using the attendeee column, is not the same as attendee list in Outlook?

    kind regards,

    Dieter
